There are several major construction projects underway at TIA. In mid-September the main runway, 11L-29R, will be closed for 30 days while the entire, 10,999' length is resurfaced.

Inside the terminal, TIA is currently undergoing a $30 million Concourse Renovation project scheduled for completion this fall. The project includes:

• reconfiguring the two security checkpoints to relieve congestion and relocating meeters and greeters and arriving passengers to the baggage level.
• relocating Customs and international arrivals to the terminal.
• additional restrooms on both concourses.
• expanded free wireless Internet service.
• new wayfinding and signage.
• increased food and beverage locations.
• meeting rooms open to the public on the third floor.
