The Federal Aviation Administration is undertaking an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to assess the potential impacts of the proposed relocation of Runway 11R/29L at Tucson International Airport (TIA).

The runway relocation was included in the 2004 TIA Master Plan Update as one of several projects recommended for development over next 20 years. The runway relocation is scheduled for completion in 2012 at a cost of appx. $75 million. Conducting an EIS is the first step in the process and offers the public an opportunity to learn about the project and provide input.
