Tucson International's art programs consist of a permanent collection, rotating exhibits and functional art.
Permanent Collection
In 1987 the Tucson Airport Authority board of directors made a commitment to acquire art for the airport. To accurately represent the region, artist eligibility is limited to Tucson's air service area, which includes Pima, Pinal, Santa Cruz, and Cochise counties and northern Sonora, Mexico.
Works by more than 40 regional artists are located throughout the terminal complex. A guide to the art is available at the Airport Information Centres.
Exhibits
Temporary exhibits by regional artists are also featured in the airport’s galleries:
The
TIA Gallery, located on the ticketing level between the Southwest and Delta ticket counters;
The
Upper Link Gallery, located on the ticketing level where the terminal connects with the moving sidewalk to the rental car building.
The
Lower Link Gallery, located on the baggage level where the terminal connects with the moving sidewalk to the rental car building.
Several
other spaces in the terminal are also designated for community arts and culture displays.

Functional Art
In 1996 TAA installed sculptural dividers to separate arriving and departing passengers at the security checkpoints. Other site-specific installations of this type are planned for the future.
