The aviation industry is strong in southern Arizona indicated by the growth of TAA's business and that of its tenants. This growth equates to expansion of facilities, which in turn pumps money back into the Tucson community through materials and supplies, design and services, wages and revenue. The positive financial implications of a growing airport will be felt in the community for decades to come.
With funding from Federal and State Grants, as well as TAA funds, the Tucson Airport Authority will be spending in excess of $11 million for improvements to TIA and Ryan Airfield.
Major projects include:
Rapid Intervention Vehicle for TAA Fire Department
Improvements to Air Freight Apron
Taxiways / Apron Reconstruction
Firehouse Improvements
Perimeter Security Fencing
Sound Insulation Program
Land Acquisition
