Now Showing in Tucson Airport: Upper Link Gallery
Departures and Arrivals is currently on display in the Upper Link Gallery at Tucson International Airport through October 31, 2007.
A collaborative exhibit by The Print Group and Raices Taller Gallery, Departures and Arrivals features diverse works including paintings, mixed media works, and original hand pulled prints by artists Jo Andersen, Quenby Bucklaew, Craig Carlson, E. Michael Contreras, Neda Contreras, Christine Dawdy, Carolyn King, Ceci Garcia, Joe Marshall, David Moreno, Kathryn Polk, Marika Szabo, Glory Tacheenie-Campoy, David Tineo, George Welch, Melanie Yazzie, and Amanda Yopp.
Raices (roots) Taller (workshop) 222 is a group created nine years ago to sponsor activities to promote the understanding and appreciation of art by the public, especially by the traditional and historical cultures of Tucson, by minorities and others underserved by the arts. Established in 2001, The Arizona Print Group participates in process demonstrations and workshops in support of educating all ages in the joys of printmaking. Also on display through September 30, local photographers David Burckhalter and Mina Sedgwick exhibit Churches and Saints: Religious Images from the Mexican States of Puebla & Tlaxcala in the Main Gallery.
Friends, now showing through August in the Lower Link Gallery on the baggage level, features work by artists Sherry Bryant, Terry Dietz, Jill Dredge, and Bernard Fierro. Wild, as well as domestic, critters crowd the walls in a variety of media ranging from watercolor to colored pencil.
