TWO NEW ART EXHIBITS INSTALLED
AT TUCSON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Climb Climb, one of two new temporary exhibits installed at Tucson International Airport (TIA), consists of large-scale oil paintings from David Brown. Mr. Brown looks at people as they examine their own journey, bringing what is on the inside to the external picture. The paintings selected for this show depict both the literal reference to climbing (from airplane climbing into the clouds to a strangely placed ladder) as well as the “not so literal” meaning of climbing.
Mr. Brown has a BFA from Arizona State University and a MFA from the University of Arizona. He has shown work in solo and group shows throughout the state and region.
Climb Climb is on exhibit in the TIA Upper Link Gallery through January 31, 2008.
Also new in the TIA Lower Link Gallery, works by members of Southern Arizona Arts Guild (SAAG). This show includes artists Joe Bourne, Jennifer Carr, Joy Douglas, John H. Gerdes, Nazanin Ghotbi, Harry L. Green II, Parthenia Ham, Robert Jennette, Carl Leick, Judie McEwen, Perry Pageau, Lorrie Parsell, Marty Plevel, Marie Eleanor Scales, Deanna Thibault, and Saundra Thumbull.
The SAAG was founded in March 2002 as a venue for artists to exchange ideas and provide support. The Guild composed of painters, sculptors, and creators of all manner of fine crafts, offers a forum for the appreciation and advancement of the Arts.
