ANOTHER WAY TO LOOK AT PHOTOGRAPHY
AT TUCSON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Click, an exhibit of unique photographic techniques featuring work by Arnold Kolb and Earle Sidelle, will be on display in the Tucson International Airport Upper Link Gallery through October 31, 2008.

Through the use of the microscope and the photographic process, Arnold Kolb finds crystals, minerals, chemicals, vitamins, bone, pharmaceuticals, plastics, ceramics, metals, and alloys all reveal unusual forms and patterns that illustrate their remarkable symmetry and detail. The use of state-of-the-art optics, polarizing prisms, interference techniques, beam splitters, and compensators all aid in revealing the beauty of symmetry that lies beneath the surface of our everyday world.

Mr. Kolb chooses to display his images in large format magnifying things even more. For more information about Arnold Kolb visit www.arnoldkolb.com.

Fascinated by large cacti, Earle Sidelle began working with the process of colored black and white infrared photographs by c onverting his digital camera to infrared. It’s different from film, less grainy and sharper.

An emphasis on the lines and shapes are magnified by photographing only parts of the cacti. Textures and spines stand out.

Mr. Sidelle currently teaches Photo Imaging at Sahuaro High School. For more information visit http://sidelle.com/.

Also on display, en.caus.tic, a group show of encaustic paintings by Suzanne Bloomfield, Deborah South McEvoy, Letizia Stanghellini, and Mauricio Toussaint, in the TIA Center Gallery through September 30, 2008.

Continuing, Abstracted features colorful acrylics and collage by Francheskaa Clark and Marti White in the TIA Lower Link Gallery through September 15, 2008.

These exhibits are a part of the TAA’s Arts & Culture Program. Go to www.tucsonairport.org for details.
