DATE OF DISTRIBUTION: May 28, 2008 FOR RELEASE UPON RECEIPT US AIRWAYS BEGINS NEW! NONSTOP SERVICE US Airways will begin daily nonstop service to Tucson International Airport (TIA) from Charlotte, North Carolina, one of its largest hubs, on June 3, 2008. This will bring to 13 the number of flights offered by US Airways. The Tempe-based airline also offers daily service to Las Vegas and 11 daily departures to Phoenix. "Charlotte is an important destination for Tucson travelers, and opens up the southeast sector of the U.S. for us. We are delighted to have this new nonstop service and know the residents of this community will be very supportive of it," said Tucson Airport Authority President/CEO Bonnie Allin. The flight departs Tucson at 11:30 p.m. and arrives in Charlotte at 6:12 a.m. The return flight leaves Charlotte at 6:15 p.m. and arrives in Tucson at 7:23 p.m. Customers may book flights at www.usairways.com, by calling 800-428-4322, or through a travel agent.
