TIA Declared a Winner by Southwest Airlines

Southwest Airlines’ Fuel Operations has commended the Tucson Airport Authority (TAA) Flight Line for its on time performance for the past six months. From January through June 2009 none of Southwest Airlines’ 3,112 scheduled flights from Tucson International Airport (TIA) recorded any fueling delays.

Southwest Airlines serves nearly 33% of the total airline passenger traffic in Tucson. The carrier provides daily nonstop service to Albuquerque, Chicago Midway, Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and San Diego.

The TAA Flight Line ranked number one out of 66 airports for its on-time performance in fueling Southwest aircraft.

TAA employs 30 people at the Flight Line who are responsible for receiving, storing, and dispensing all air carrier and ground support fuel at Tucson International Airport. It also operates the Executive Terminal, Tucson’s only 24-hour Fixed Base Operator (FBO), supporting private aircraft of all types and sizes with a range of services and amenities. In addition, Flight Line personnel support several operational, administrative, and regulatory compliance functions at both TIA and Ryan Airfield.
