Clear Channel To Redevelop Advertising Program
At Tucson International Airport

The Tucson Airport Authority (TAA) has exercised a five-year option in its existing agreement with Clear Channel Interspace Airport Advertising to redevelop and manage the in-terminal advertising program at Tucson International Airport (TIA).

“We are very excited about the new high-tech advertising displays and equipment that Clear Channel will be installing,” explained TAA Vice President of Administration and Finance Richard Gruentzel. “One of our goals for the new program is to leave visitors with a positive impression of Tucson and southern Arizona as a great place to live, do business and visit. As our community’s front door for economic development and tourism, this new program will showcase the region as a dynamic, high-tech destination for the more than 3.5 million passengers who pass through TIA every year. Clear Channel Interspace is a leader in the airport advertising industry and we are pleased that they will continue to be available to custom-design programs at TIA that will allow advertisers to tell their story to Tucson-area visitors and residents alike.”

Airport advertisers will have the opportunity to display their messages on new high-resolution 52” flat-screen LCD monitors in the baggage claim area and on existing LCD monitors in several new locations throughout the terminal. Also in the bag claim area will be Clear Channel’s Digital Passenger Assistance Service System (DPASS). This technology combines a host of passenger services into a user-friendly, multi-option touch screen kiosk with categories such as lodging, dining and local attractions, and will replace the current phone boards that contain static images of hotel exteriors. DPASS will allow the freedom to include in-depth amenity information and printable maps, as well as the standard option of direct phone dialing.

Installation of all new equipment for the program is expected to be completed by March 1, 2010.
