DELICIA BRUNNER, TAA OPERATIONS COORDINATOR,
PRESENTED SAFETY AWARD

     Delicia “Dee” Brunner, Tucson Airport Authority (TAA) Operations Coordinator, received the 2009 Southern Arizona Community Safety Award presented by the Southern Arizona Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers at its annual awards banquet last month. Ms. Brunner is an active supporter of the Tucson safety community and has been instrumental in promoting safety and health programs for the employees, customers, and contract employees of the TAA.

     Ms. Brunner has been responsible for the Airport Authority’s employee health and safety programs for the past five years and oversees its Safety and Wellness Committee. The group continues to keep employees aware of the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and protecting their health and safety, which impacts not only their well-being but also their family, coworkers, community, and employer. One such program held annually at the airport is the Health & Safety Awareness Week. This year’s event for the airport community is being held this week through June 5 in the terminal at Tucson International Airport (TIA).

     Ms. Brunner is a native Tucsonan and has been with the Tucson Airport Authority for 25 years. In addition to TAA’s safety programs, she handles Ground Transportation and the Airport Ambassador Program. She is a graduate of Pima Community College and is a Certified Tourism Ambassador.

     The Tucson Airport Authority, TAA, is a nonprofit entity created by State Charter in 1948. Composed of 115 community members, the Authority has a nine-member board of directors that meets monthly. TAA President/CEO Bonnie Allin, oversees day-to-day operations, and a staff of 300 employees. TAA manages Tucson International Airport and Ryan Airfield.
